Interrupted Legacies
A short film about what is lost when a life is claimed by care.
“The rice coming to boil interrupted entire legacies of inventiveness.”

My mother is filmed performing her daily kitchen routine in black and white, reflecting the monotony of domestic labor. Every few frames, her figure shifts into color. Soft, fleeting, abstract. Glimpses of the person she might have been.
The color acts as a residue of imagination, momentarily surfacing before dissolving back into grayscale. A visualization of what homemakers lose, not through absence, but through the quiet theft of time, attention, and creative potential.
