A UI/UX redesign of the world's biggest book cataloguing platform, focused on making it feel less cluttered and more connected.

Goodreads has a massive user base but a persistent problem. Despite being the first mover in book cataloguing, users were leaving because the interface felt outdated, hard to navigate, and socially disconnected. The iOS rating sat at 2.1.

The redesign focused on three things: making the home screen feel like a community, giving the discover screen more breathing room, and reworking the review system to let readers be more expressive.

Research came first, app store reviews, a survey of 18 users, and one on one interviews. The final designs introduced a photo based review flow, improved onboarding, and a cleaner discover screen built around how readers actually browse.
